O vocalista Myles Kennedy, do ALTER BRIDGE, confirmou que cantou várias músicas com a parte “instrumental” do Led Zeppelin como parte de um processo de audição tendo em vista uma turnê mundial.

Ainda que nomes como Jack White, Chris Cornell, Dave Grohl e Steven Tyler tenham surgido como possíveis vocalistas para o novo projeto, os rumores mais fortes durante os últimos meses dão conta de que Page, Jones e Bonham têm ensaiado com Kennedy, como parte dos planos de gravar e sair em turnê sem o vocalista do ZEPPELIN, Robert Plant.

Conversando com Eric Blair do “The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show” no show da NAMM (National Association of Music Mechants) que ocorreu há dez dias (de 15 a 18 de janeiro de 2009) em Anaheim, na Califórnia, Kennedy disse: “eu não sou o novo vocalista do Led Zeppelin nem estou participando de nenhum projeto com os outros membros do LED ZEPPELIN, mas eu tive uma grande oportunidade, pela qual sou muito grato. Mas o ALTER BRIDGE vai continuar, e é isso o que importa”. Quando perguntado sobre como foi tocar com seus heróis de infância, Kennedy afirmou: “surreal. Foi ótimo.” Ao ser perguntado sobre quais músicas teria tocado com o guitarrista Jimmy Page, com o baixista John Paul Jones e com o baterista Jason Bonham, Myles despistou: “um dia eu ainda conto essa história. Mas por ora, foi uma ótima experiência e eu ainda estou me beliscando pra ter certeza de que não foi um sonho, coloquemos desta forma”.

Ele foi lançado antes de ontem, ontem eu instalei aqui o Kubuntu 8.10, mais o Kde 4.2.0
Por enquanto vou colocar só 3 screenshots dele, outra hora eu falo mais sobre ele.
Não preciso dizer que gostei demais do Kde 4.2, e acredito que o projeto está rumando para a perfeição, não foi a toa que foi escolhido como o melhor projeto de Software Livre de 2008.

Tecladista Billy Powell morreu após ligar para emergência.
Banda é responsável pelos hits ‘Sweet home Alabama’ e ‘Free bird’.

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Billy Powell, tecladista da formação original da banda de rock caipira Lynyrd Skynyrd, morreu em sua casa na Flórida nesta quarta-feira (28). O grupo é responsável pelos hits “Sweet home Alabama” e “Free bird”.

De acordo com um policial de Orange Park, o músico de 56 anos telefonou para a emergência por volta da 0h55 (horário local) dizendo que estava com problemas para respirar. Equipes de resgate tentaram reavivá-lo, mas o tecladista foi considerado morto à 1h52 da manhã.

Ainda segundo o policial, Powell teria perdido uma consulta com seu médico nesta terça-feira para uma avaliação cardíaca. Há suspeita de ataque do coração.

Powell era um dos dois integrantes do grupo que sobreviveram a um acidente de avião em 1977 que matou os outros três membros do Lynyrd Skynyrd. O outro sobrevivente é o guitarrista Gary Rossington.
